Steak And Mushroom Casserole

Ingredients

- 2 lbs sirloin steaks
- 1/3 cup flour
- salt and pepper
- 1 tablespoon mustard powder
- 2 -3 tablespoons olive oil
- 3 cups sliced mushrooms
- 1 medium onion, sliced
- 2 -3 cloves fresh minced garlic (optional)
- 1/4-1/3 cup dry red wine
- 3 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 1/2 tablespoons worcestershire sauce
- 1 (19 ounce) can tomatoes, chopped
Recipe
- 1 set oven to 350 degrees.
- 2 grease a large casserole dish.
- 3 cut beef into bite-sized cubes.
- 4 combine flour, salt, pepper and dry mustard powder.
- 5 toss beef cubes in the flour mixture to coat.
- 6 heat oil in a frypan.
- 7 brown beef cubes on all sides.
- 8 place browned beef cubes in a casserole dish.
- 9 add all remaining ingredients.
- 10 cover, and bake for 1-1/2 hours, or until meat is tender.
- 11 stir occasionally.
