Steak And Mushroom Casserole

Total Time: 1 hr 30 mins Preparation Time: 30 mins Cook Time: 1 hr

Ingredients

  • Servings: 6
  • 2 lbs sirloin steaks
  • 1/3 cup flour
  • salt and pepper
  • 1 tablespoon mustard powder
  • 2 -3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 cups sliced mushrooms
  • 1 medium onion, sliced
  • 2 -3 cloves fresh minced garlic (optional)
  • 1/4-1/3 cup dry red wine
  • 3 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons worcestershire sauce
  • 1 (19 ounce) can tomatoes, chopped

Recipe

  • 1 set oven to 350 degrees.
  • 2 grease a large casserole dish.
  • 3 cut beef into bite-sized cubes.
  • 4 combine flour, salt, pepper and dry mustard powder.
  • 5 toss beef cubes in the flour mixture to coat.
  • 6 heat oil in a frypan.
  • 7 brown beef cubes on all sides.
  • 8 place browned beef cubes in a casserole dish.
  • 9 add all remaining ingredients.
  • 10 cover, and bake for 1-1/2 hours, or until meat is tender.
  • 11 stir occasionally.
