Stuffed Green Bell Peppers

Total Time: 35 mins Preparation Time: 15 mins Cook Time: 20 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 4
  • 4 large green peppers
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 2 teaspoons butter, melted
  • 1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheese

Recipe

  • 1 cut off tops of green peppers, remove centers and discard.
  • 2 cook peppers in boiling water for approximately 5 minutes.
  • 3 drain and set peppers aside.
  • 4 saute onion in butter until tender, add ground beef, cook until browned, drain well.
  • 5 stir in remaining ingredients except for the cheese.
  • 6 stuff peppers with meat mixture and place in an 8-inch square baking dish.
  • 7 bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes.
  • 8 sprinkle tops of green peppers with cheese and bake until cheese melts.
