Shirley's Braised Beef

Ingredients

  • Servings: 6
  • 1 1/3 ounces onion soup mix
  • 1 (10 3/4 ounce) can tomato soup
  • 1 (10 3/4 ounce) can cream of mushroom soup
  • 3/4 cup dry red wine
  • 2 lbs lean stewing beef
  • 8 ounces sliced mushrooms

Recipe

  • 1 preheat oven to 250 degrees f.
  • 2 mist a 6 to 8 quart covered casserole with cooking spray. place the onion soup mix, tomato soup, mushroom soup, and wine in the casserole and stir to combine. stir in the beef and mushrooms. cover the casserole.
  • 3 bake the beef until it is very tender and the sauce has cooked down and thickened, about 4 1/2 hours. serve at once.
