Southwestern Sausage Drop Biscuits

Total Time: 24 mins Preparation Time: 12 mins Cook Time: 12 mins

Ingredients

  • 1 lb bulk lamb, beef or 1 lb venison sausage
  • 1 cup chopped green onion
  • 3 cups baking mix
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 1/4 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 cup well drained diced canned tomato
  • 1 dash cayenne pepper

Recipe

  • 1 preheat oven to 350.
  • 2 crumble and cook sausage in medium skillet over medium heat until cooked through and browned.
  • 3 remove sausage and drain well on several layers of paper towels.
  • 4 in a large bowl, combine cooked sausage and remaining ingredients; mix well to form a dough.
  • 5 shape dough into 2" balls and place on a ungreased, foil lined baking sheet.
  • 6 bake for 12 minutes, or until golden brown.
  • 7 serve warm. makes 2 dozen small biscuits.
