Three Bean Chili

Total Time: 40 mins Preparation Time: 20 mins Cook Time: 20 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 8
  • 2 lbs lean ground beef
  • 3 teaspoons chili powder
  • 1 small yellow onion, chopped
  • 1 small green pepper, chopped
  • 2 (16 ounce) cans dark red kidney beans
  • 2 (16 ounce) cans pinto beans
  • 2 (16 ounce) cans black beans
  • 1 (14 1/2 ounce) tomatoes, chopped
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 teaspoon garlic salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 (6 ounce) can tomato paste
  • sour cream (to garnish)

Recipe

  • 1 brown ground beef in heavy dutch oven or soup pot.
  • 2 add chili powder while browning and mix in well.
  • 3 add onion and green pepper to meat and brown for 2 minutes.
  • 4 drain off excess grease.
  • 5 stir in remaining ingredients except sour cream.
  • 6 simmer on low heat for 10 minutes.
  • 7 serve with a dollop of sour cream.
