Tamale-style Pie

Ingredients

- 2 cups bisquick
- 3/4 cup water
- 2 lbs ground beef
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1/2 cup salsa
- 2 cups tomato juice
- 2 tablespoons chili powder
- salt
- 1 pinch dried hot pepper
- 10 drops tabasco sauce
- 1 green pepper, chopped
- 1 tomato, chopped
- 1/4 cup sliced black olives
- 6 flour tortillas, made into crumbs in food processor
- 1/4 cup melted butter
- 2 cups shredded medium cheddar
Recipe
- 1 brown ground beef and onion.
- 2 drain.
- 3 add salsa, tomato juice, chili powder, salt, dried peppers, and tabasco sauce.
- 4 boil until liquid is reduced.
- 5 remove from heat.
- 6 add green pepper, tomato, and olives.
- 7 mix bisquick and water in 13 x 9 baking pan.
- 8 spread evenly over bottom of pan.
- 9 top with beef mixture.
- 10 mix ground tortillas, butter, and cheese.
- 11 sprinkle on top of beef mixture.
- 12 bake at 400 f for 30 minutes.
- 13 serve with dollops of sour cream.
