String Hoppers Biryani

Total Time: 2 hrs Preparation Time: 1 hr Cook Time: 1 hr

Ingredients

  • Servings: 5
  • 25 g cooked string hoppers
  • 500 g beef or 500 g mutton
  • 250 g carrots
  • 200 g spring onions
  • 200 g tomatoes
  • 2 onions
  • 2 aubergines
  • 1 tablespoon red chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 tablespoon coriander powder
  • 3 -5 curry leaves
  • 3 -4 cardamom seeds
  • 2 tablespoons ginger-garlic paste
  • 5 tablespoons oil
  • 2 maggi chicken stock cubes
  • salt

Recipe

  • 1 cut the meat into 2 cm cubes.
  • 2 add salt, chilli powder, corriander powder and turmeric powder.
  • 3 mix well.
  • 4 chop the onions and tomatoes.
  • 5 heat oil in a pan.
  • 6 add the onions, ginger-garlic paste, curry leaves and cardamom seeds.
  • 7 fry for 2 minutes.
  • 8 add the meat, cook well and then remove from heat.
  • 9 cut the aubergines into cubes.
  • 10 add salt and a pinch of turmeric powder.
  • 11 fry until golden brown.
  • 12 cut the spring onions and grate the carrots.
  • 13 heat oil in a pan.
  • 14 add the grated carrots and chicken cubes.
  • 15 cook for a while.
  • 16 add the fried aubergines.
  • 17 allow it to cook for some more time.
  • 18 remove from heat.
  • 19 tear the string hoppers and put the meat.
  • 20 add all the cooked ingredients.
  • 21 mix well.
  • 22 garnish with spring onions.
  • 23 serve.
