Top-stove Short Ribs

Total Time: 2 hrs 40 mins Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 2 hrs 30 mins

Ingredients

  • 3 lbs beef short ribs
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 2 tablespoons shortening
  • 1 (10 ounce) can condensed beef broth
  • 1 cup dried apricot
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons vinegar
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon allspice
  • 1/4 teaspoon clove

Recipe

  • 1 dust ribs with flour; brown in shortening in a large, heavy pan. pour off excess drippings. combine remaining ingredients and pour over ribs. cover. cook over low heat about 2 1/2 hours or until tender, turning ribs and basting with sauce occasionally.
