Swedish Meatballs

Total Time: 40 mins Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 30 mins

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 lb ground veal
  • 1/2 cup dry breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup evaporated milk
  • 1/4 cup drippings or 1/4 cup fat
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon ginger
  • 1 egg, slightly beaten
  • 1 tablespoon onion, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon allspice

Recipe

  • 1 blend all ingredients except drippings. form in small balls. brown in drippings, shaking skillet so balls brown evenly. cover pan tightly and steam for 15 minutes.
