Tresa's Pot Roast

Total Time: 5 hrs 15 mins Preparation Time: 15 mins Cook Time: 5 hrs

Ingredients

  • Servings: 8
  • 1 -2 lb chuck roast
  • 3 garlic cloves, sliced
  • salt and pepper
  • oil
  • 1 -2 your preference envelopes onion soup mix
  • 1 (18 ounce) can cream of mushroom soup
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 1 large onion, roughly chopped
  • 5 -7 carrots, peeled and chopped
  • 4 -6 large potatoes, peeled and chopped

Recipe

  • 1 cut slits in roast, poke garlic slices in holes.
  • 2 salt and pepper meat.
  • 3 brown in oil in a large pot -- something deep that can go into the oven.
  • 4 remove meat and set aside.
  • 5 add soup and mix to pot add 2 cans of water.
  • 6 let come to a boil.
  • 7 add meat back to pot.
  • 8 add enough water to cover meat good.
  • 9 add onion and bay leaves.
  • 10 cover with lid or foil.
  • 11 bake at 350 for 4 to 5 hours.
  • 12 check on the liquid every so often you may have to add water.
  • 13 45 minutes before it's done add potatoes and carrots.
