Terbiyeli Kofte

Total Time: 50 mins Preparation Time: 15 mins Cook Time: 35 mins

Ingredients

  • 2 -3 tablespoons cooked rice
  • 1 1/2 lbs ground beef
  • 1/2 large onion, finely minced
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 ounce parsley
  • 2 cups water, salted
  • 1 tablespoon margarine
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 1 lemon, juice of

Recipe

  • 1 mix cooked rice, ground beef, onion, salt, pepper, and parsley.
  • 2 knead for 5 minutes.
  • 3 roll the mixture into small walnut size balls.
  • 4 boil 2 to 2 1/2 cups of salted water with margarine.
  • 5 drop meatballs into it.
  • 6 cover and cook on medium heat for 20 to 30 minutes or until the meatballs are done.
  • 7 in a small bowl beat the 2 egg yolks, or one whole egg, with lemon juice. slowly add 1/2 cup of the boiling meat stock.
  • 8 add to saucepan.
  • 9 cook for 2 to 3 more minutes.
  • 10 turn off heat.
  • 11 mix well and serve.
