Red Wine Sauce

Ingredients
- 1/2 small onion, minced
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1/2 cup dry red wine
- 1 (14 ounce) can beef broth (homemade is better)
- 1/4 cup water
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 1 pinch thyme (optional)
- salt and pepper
Recipe
- 1 saute onion in butter 3 minutes or until browned. add wine; cook 3 minutes. add broth; bring to boil and cook 5 minutes.
- 2 stir together water and cornstarch. add to wine mixture and cook 1 minute until thickened. adjust seasonings with salt and pepper and optional thyme.
