Tangy Meatballs

Total Time: 1 hr 20 mins Preparation Time: 20 mins Cook Time: 1 hr

Ingredients

  • 2 eggs
  • 2 cups quick-cooking oats
  • 1 (12 ounce) can evaporated milk
  • 1 cup chopped onion
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 3 lbs lean ground beef
  • 2 cups ketchup
  • 1 1/2 cups packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 1 -2 teaspoon liquid smoke
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

Recipe

  • 1 in large bowl, beat eggs. add oats, milk, onion, salt and pepper, and garlic powder. add ground beef and mix well. shape into 1-1/2 inch balls. place in two 9"x13" baking pans. bake uncovered at 375 degrees for 30 minutes.
  • 2 remove from oven and drain off grease. place all meatballs in one pan.
  • 3 in a saucepan, bring the sauce ingredients.
  • 4 to a boil.
  • 5 pour over meatballs. return to oven and bake uncovered for 20 minutes.
