Tangy Meatloaf

Total Time: 1 hr 35 mins Preparation Time: 30 mins Cook Time: 1 hr 5 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 5
  • 1 1/2 lbs lean ground beef
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon dry mustard
  • 4 teaspoons worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 cup chopped onion
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tablespoons chopped green peppers
  • 3/4 cup crushed wheat chex

Recipe

  • 1 combine ketchup, brown sugar, dry mustard.
  • 2 remove and reserve 4 tablespoons for topping.
  • 3 to remaining ketchup mixture, add worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion, salt, pepper and egg.
  • 4 blend well; then add green pepper and wheat chex.
  • 5 add ground beef and mix well.
  • 6 shape into loaf in shallow pan.
  • 7 bake at 350 degrees for 50 minutes.
  • 8 pour reserved 4 tbsp.
  • 9 of topping over meatloaf and bake 15 minutes longer.
