Swedish Meatballs

Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1/2 lb lamb sausage
- 1/2 cup oatmeal or 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1/8 teaspoon allspice
- 1 1/4 teaspoons salt
- 1 tablespoon onion, grated
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 2 beef bouillon cubes
- 2 cups hot water
- 2 tablespoons flour
Recipe
- 1 using hands, combine ground beef, lamb sausage, bread crumbs or oatmeal, sour cream, beaten egg, allspice, salt & grated onion in large mixing bowl and then form into balls.
- 2 melt butter over medium heat. brown meatballs in butter.
- 3 meanwhile, dissolve bouillon cubes in boiling water.
- 4 when meatballs are nice and brown and cooked through, pour the bouillon mixture over top. simmer for 10 minutes, or until right before serving.
- 5 before serving, thicken sauce. to thicken, mix flour with water to form a paste (like the texture of glue). stir into sauce a little at a time. let simmer. repeat by adding more of a flour/water mixture until the gravy reaches desired consistency.
