Topsy-turvy Pie

Total Time: 45 mins Preparation Time: 25 mins Cook Time: 20 mins

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 1/4 cup chopped green pepper
  • 1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 (4 1/2 ounce) can chopped ripe black olives
  • 1 cup bisquick
  • 1/3 cup cream

Recipe

  • 1 heat oven to 425 degrees.
  • 2 brown meat in oil, add onion and green pepper.
  • 3 cook until meat is browned and onion is transparent.
  • 4 add rest of meat filling ingredients and mix well, and pour into a 9" pie pan.
  • 5 mix topping, beat about 20 times, then knead 8-10 times to smooth dough.
  • 6 roll out to fit pie pan.
  • 7 place on meat mixture and make slits on top in the dough.
  • 8 bake 15-20 minutes, or until lightly browned.
  • 9 let stand 1-2 minutes, and then invert over serving dish and cut into wedges.
